Myths & Metaphors of “Artificial Intelligence”

Thursday, March 26th at 4:30pm, Hildreth-Mirza Hall Great Room

Producers of the Ways of Knowing podcast, Chris Hoff and Sam Harnett present a discussion of the myths and metaphors in our contemporary discussion of ‘Artificial Intelligence’.

How did AI become conflated with human intelligence, and how is this myth being used to build infrastructure, rewrite laws, and alter norms that will fundamentally change how we work, recreate, communicate…and ultimately think about what it means to be human? Based on a two-part documentary produced in collaboration with Cornell University.

Funding contributed by the Departments of Music and Philosophy, the University Lectureship Committee, and the Dominguez Center for Data Science. Event poster
