Monday, October 20, 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM | Rooke Recital Hall (Weis Music Building)
Please join us on Monday, October 20, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Rooke Recital Hall (Weis Music Building) for an address by Jerry Farano ’88 on the realities—and risks—of relying on artificial intelligence.
What the talk is about: As artificial intelligence expands across industries—impacting everything from global data center power demands to higher education, our need to understand this technology’s underlying foundation is urgent. While expanding datasets make generative tools and autonomous AI agents feel increasingly certain and human-like, fluency must not be confused with truth. Jerry Farano will draw upon his decades of high-level experience in corporate governance, law, and international energy markets to discuss why recognizing this boundary is key to using AI responsibly.
About Jerry Farano: Jerry Farano has over 35 years of executive and legal experience advising strategic and financial clients on domestic and international deals valued in excess of $250 billion. His distinguished career spans international privatization efforts in Russia to serving as Chairman of the Board for EVRAZ North America plc. He has been nationally and internationally recognized by Chambers USA, Forbes, Lawdragon, and The Legal 500.
