The Dominguez Center for Data Science is pleased to have Bucknell alum, Raj Thangavelu ’98, on campus for his talk “Data Integrity, Why It Matters”. Free lunch is provided, sign up here! Raj will hold one-on-one meetings about data-oriented careers with students after the talk. Space is limited, time slots are here.
Raj Thangavelu is a 1998 graduate of Bucknell where he double majored in Economics and Political Science. After working for 3 years as a Financial Analyst and Actuarial Pricing Assistant he entered graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin where he completed a Masters in Public Affairs in 2003. From 2003 to 2007, he worked as a Bank Examiner at the Farm Credit Administration and then switched to the role of IT Analyst from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, he joined the Federal Housing Finance Agency where he works as Senior Financial Database Specialist. He has completed multiple training courses in Tableau, SQL Server Management Studio and Operational Risk Management. He is also an Accredited Mortgage Professional having completed all three levels of the School Of Mortgage Banking’s Residential Banking Series.
In his spare time, he helps run the DC Alumni Club and recruits students (at last count more than 35) to intern at his agency (hopefully we will have interns in 2026). He also served on the Bucknell Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2011 to 2019 and is currently the chair of the Bucknell Public Interest Program scholarship committee. Lastly he loves to travel and volunteer with kids as often as he can.
