Create a Valentine (with code) Event

In honor of International Love Data Week, the DCDS is hosting a Create a Valentine (with code)” event on Tuesday February 11th, 4:30 – 6:00 pm in Taylor 210.  Appetizers and chocolate will be provided!

At the event, participants will use the statistical software R to design a Valentine’s card or art.  No prior experience is required but please bring a laptop or tablet.  For creating the cards, our helpers will provide templates and will walk you through the process.  There will also be plenty of room for you to get creative with your creation.  We will also have art supplies available for those who want to create a code-free card.  For inspiration, check out two of our templates and a code-free example below!

A hand-drawn line chart showing "our love" on the y axis and "time" on the x-axis with several data points marked with hearts. Three have data labels: the first point is "we met in MATH 216", one low point is "you forgot my birthday" and the highest and last point is "I made you this sweet card".
